JDF
How this thing started

I didn't plan to build a travel app.I just wanted my friends to reply to WhatsApp.

Three of us. One free weekend in September. A group chat with a genuinely impressive amount of enthusiasm in it.

guys. trip. when?
YES i'm in 🙌
100% let's do it
where though
anywhere honestly
somewhere with a beach?
or mountains
or both 😅
ok so… where?
Someone is typing…
And then…
Nothing.
Still three thumbs-up reactions and a photo of a beach nobody could name.
Northern Greece, the scene of the crime

The question was never "which hotel".

We live near Thessaloniki. Within a few hours there's a whole coastline, three peninsulas and a ferry to places none of us had heard of. Plenty of options. That was exactly the problem.

Fuck it.
Not a startup. A link. Something I could throw into the chat so the answer would take four taps instead of five days.

Nobody decides.
Then I sent it to other people. Turns out it isn't three friends and one September weekend. It's every group chat, everywhere, forever.
Everybody wants to go. Everybody is flexible. Everybody is waiting for someone else to say a place out loud first.
I don't want to plan your trip for you.

JDF doesn't rank the best hotel, the best restaurant or the ten things you absolutely must do before you die. There are a thousand sites doing that, and they all send everyone to the same three streets.

It solves the one hard part: the first decision. Where are we actually going? Once that's settled, the trip is yours — get lost, ask a local, find the place that isn't on anybody's list.

Menelaos, who built JDF

Hi. I'm Menelaos. I made this in the gaps between other things.

I'm not a travel company. I'm a person who got tired of the silence after "guys, trip, when?" — and who still owes his friends a weekend in Chalkidiki.

Somewhere is better than someday.
Pick a few places, send one link, let everyone vote. Worst case, you finally get an answer.
