About Skyros

Skyros feels like two islands in one. The northern half is green and forested, with pine trees, hidden beaches and landscapes reminiscent of the Sporades, while the southern half becomes rugged, open and dramatic, more like the Cyclades. This contrast gives Skyros a unique character you won't find elsewhere in Greece. Add traditional villages, excellent local food, hiking trails and a relaxed pace of life, and you get an island that rewards travellers looking for authenticity, nature and a slower, more meaningful summer experience.

How to get there

  • Fly from Athens to Skyros Airport. Alternatively drive to Kymi (Evia) and take the ferry to Skyros. Car recommended for exploring the island. Fewer connections than major Greek islands, but worth the effort.
